In Loving Memory of
Nia Imani Thompson
February 13, 1993 – May 4, 2025
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend, Nia Imani Thompson, who transitioned from this life on Sunday, May 4, 2025, due to complications from lupus.
Nia was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and although she was living in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the time of her passing, Jackson has always been her home.
As we grieve this heartbreaking loss, we are also faced with the unexpected financial burden of bringing Nia back home to lay her to rest. Unfortunately, Nia did not have burial insurance or funds set aside for final expenses. At this time we don't know exactly what the final funeral expenses will be until we get her body back to Jackson, MS. When we get the final funeral arrangement amounts, we will add this information to this memorial site. We are humbly asking for the support of our family, friends, and extended community to assist us with covering the cost of transporting Nia back to Mississippi and arranging a proper homegoing celebration.
No amount is too small, and every gift is a blessing. If you feel led to help during this difficult time, we would be deeply grateful for your donation.
Thank you for your prayers, love, and support. We will share the funeral arrangements soon.
With heartfelt appreciation,
The Thompson Family
Way's to Donate
Please Note:
While we initially considered setting up a GoFundMe campaign to help with Nia’s final expenses, we made the decision to use our own direct payment methods instead. This allows us to avoid transaction fees that are deducted from each donation, ensuring that 100% of your contribution goes directly toward bringing Nia home to Jackson, MS, and covering her funeral expenses.
